Ahhh, the land of milk and honey, of sunshine, beautiful beaches... Well, we made it to California. After sitting on the ground in Istanbul for 3 hours waiting for de-ice we finally found our way to London. Of course, by that time our onward flight had left, so we were re-routed via Los Angeles and finally to San Francisco. Still plenty of time to get some sleep and make my Friday morning appointment with the medical department for a Yellow Fever shot. Funny how it all feels the same as it did when we left 3 years ago. It seems little has changed. Of course, the occasional new apartment building is there, along with more housing tracts (just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be space for more), but generally things are as we left them. Ensuring that our priorities are in order, a new car has been purchased (a 2006 Miata – zoom zoom!), along with order of services for our house, phones, etc. Tuesday we get back into the house and start making it livable. Sunday I’m off to the new job.
