That’s what Rex said we would be saying in a few years. Remember that trip. I guess that’s all you can say after the past few days.

It’s Friday now. I got home this morning. Since Wednesday morning in Angola, I’ve spent a total of 3 hours sleeping in a real bed. The rest of the time was spent mostly awake, or trying to sleep in a variety of chairs and airplane seats.

Every so often a guy just has to have some guy fun. Being a guy, I understand this. Usually, guy fun involves playing with expensive toys or endangering life and limb in some way. My fun for the past few days has been in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, fooling around with boats. It’s the preparation races for the J/24 World Championships. Having owned one long ago, my friend Jay thought he could entice me to come to visit if he proms ed a front row seat by letting me ride around with him on the photo boat.

It’s hard to classify Thailand – ancient culture, friendly people, and a 7-11 on every corner. Long sandy beaches, green hills, fruit falling from the trees. Mopeds carrying a family of 5, or a 15 foot ladder. Every other shop is either a massage parlor, a tailor, or a restaurant specializing in spaghetti bolonese.
